Attorneys

Janey Simmons is an associate attorney with Tisinger Vance.

A Carrollton native, Janey graduated from Carrollton High School before earning her Bachelor of Arts in English, cum laude, from the University of West Georgia. She earned her Juris Doctor from Florida Coastal School of Law, where she graduated in the top 17 percent of her class. During law school, she was a Governor's Scholarship recipient and was recognized on both the Dean's Scholar List and Dean's List. She was admitted to The Florida Bar in 2010.

While in law school, Janey clerked with Schutt, Schmidt & Noey, P.A., a Jacksonville civil litigation firm. After graduation, she began her legal career with Wicker Smith, where she practiced civil litigation before returning to Carrollton.

After returning home, Janey spent more than twelve years in education, teaching English, business, and debate at Carrollton High School. She also served as assistant debate coach and founded the Carrollton High School dance program.

Janey was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 2026 and joined Tisinger Vance.

Her practice includes estate planning and probate.
