Zack graduated from the Georgia State University College of Law cum laude and in the top 20% of his graduating class. Before law school, Zack graduated from the University of Georgia with a B.A. in English.

In law school, Zack was an Associate Legislation Editor of the Georgia State University Law Review, authoring Providing Fair Relief in Georgia Dispossessory Proceedings, 32 Ga. St. U. L. Rev. 1003 (2016), and co-authoring the legislative review of HB 1, Georgia's 2015 medical cannabis bill, 32 Ga. St. U. L. Rev. 153 (2015). Zack was an extern in the Georgia Supreme Court with the Honorable Presiding Justice P. Harris Hines. Zack also was an Urban Fellow in Georgia State Law's Center for the Comparative Study of Metropolitan Growth, was an officer of Georgia State Law's Federalist Society chapter, and graduated with highest pro bono distinction.
