What is E-Verify? E-Verify is a governmental program that compares information from an employee’s Form I-9 (Employment Eligibility Verification Form) to data from the Department of Homeland Security and Social Security Administration records to confirm an employee’s eligibility to work in the United States.
What is I-9? The Employment Eligibility Verification Form I-9 is used by an employer to verify an employee’s identity and verifies that the worker is legally capable of accepting employment in the United States. All workers hired after 1986 are required to complete an I-9 for the employer, and to present a form of identification listed on the form’s instructions.
Tisinger Vance aims to assist employers in navigating the complexities of immigration law.
