Margaret Louttit joined the firm in 2015. Her principal practice area is litigation with a focus on Insurance Defense. As a litigator, she has tried multiple cases to verdict and has experience with all stages of litigation, including appellate work. She is a lifelong resident of Georgia, graduating from Valdosta High School in 1998 and Davidson College in 2002. Margaret received her Juris Doctor from Georgia State University College of Law in 2006. While at the College of Law, Margaret completed externships in Criminal and Elder Law, graduating with a pro bono distinction. After completing her education, she worked as an Assistant District Attorney in the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit and helmed a solo practice for over four years before returning to prosecution as an Assistant District Attorney with the Paulding Judicial Circuit. Margaret now brings her public service experience to bear in her civil practice.
Margaret is active in the Carroll County community, where she has resided since 2005. Her professional memberships include the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce, the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association, and the Defense Research Institute. Margaret is the Firm Champion for the Atlanta Community Food Bank Legal Food Frenzy. She is also a member of the Fun Committee at Tisinger Vance and a member of the Carrollton Kiwanis Club. Additionally, she is an active member of St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church. She lives in Carrollton with her husband, Jay, Director of College Counseling and history teacher at Oak Mountain Academy, and their two children.
